Our Journey

KovaiBSF is a leading Black Soldier Fly (BSF) larvae producer in India. The company started its journey in 2017, with the aim for reducing organic waste through BSF farming.

The founder, Ms. Anupa Velusamy, was passionate about sustainable farming and started experimenting with BSF farming on a small scale. She found that BSF larvae were a highly nutritious and sustainable source of protein for livestock feed and decided to scale up the operation.

KovaiBSF was officially launched in 2018, with the goal of becoming a leading BSF larvae producer in India. The company started with a small-scale operation, producing a few kilograms of BSF larvae per week. As demand for their product grew, they expanded their operation and invested in research and development to improve the quality and efficiency of their production process.

Today, KovaiBSF is one of the leading BSF larvae producers in India, with a production capacity of over 10,000 kg per month. The company has also expanded its operations to process difficult waste of 120 tons per month. KovaiBSF's success can be attributed to their commitment to sustainability, innovation, and quality. By providing a sustainable and eco-friendly alternative to traditional animal feed, the company has established itself as a key player in the Indian agriculture and feed industry.

I'm Anupa Velusamy, an innovative entrepreneur dedicated to revolutionizing the waste management industry through sustainable solutions. With a background in engineering and management, I founded KovaiBSF—a pioneering startup focused on harnessing Black Soldier Fly Larvae (BSFL) technology to tackle urban waste challenges.

My journey began with a vision to address the pressing need for mindful waste processing, leading me to establish KovaiBSF in 2018. Since then, our bootstrapped company has grown into a leading player in the field, spearheading efforts to mitigate landfills and greenhouse gas emissions.
